Referred by a retired physician in same complex. Showed very little concern towards family member's questions concerning fathers condition. Misdiagnosed condition, stating he had a urinary track infection. He was lethargic, gave inaccurate answers to questions asked and his legs were swollen so severely, he could not get loose slacks over calves. They were black in color and very hot to the touch. When touched, experienced extreme pain. Dr. King prescribed antibiotic and sent home. Family took him to his neurologist who took one "look" and stated even though this was not his expertise, stated it was pretty obvious he had an severe case of cellulitis. Ordered him to go straight to emergency room in which he called and filled them in on condition. He was hospitalized for 10 days and was told this could have killed him. He was treated with excellent care at St. Davids Hospital and followed up with out patient care at the wound specialist center at North Austin Hospital. When Dr. King was questioned by family, they were asked to not come back to her office. She went so far as to send a letter to my father stated he was welcomed to return as her patient, but again stated family members could not come with him! He is 74 yrs. old and forgets things. He had ask one of us to go to appointments with him. Will not return to Dr. King.
Note: the office staff is incredible.
